IT Security Architect

Description:
Quantum Information Systems is seeking an IT Security Architect for a contract position in Richmond, VA.
**Local candidates strongly preferred

**short term contract, no guarantee of extension
Roles and Responsibilities:
o Establish the target security/infrastructure architecture.
o Author corresponding requirements, including definition of dependencies on infrastructure consolidation efforts.
o Define Security/Information Assurance requirements (and dependencies).
o Specify key architectural aspects of the architecture view, and identify other aspects that need definition.
o Other duties include researching best practices for reuse, applying Commonwealth IT Security and industry standards, and defining the transformation approach that transitions the current architecture to the target architecture.
o Experience working with current and emerging information security technologies and development methodologies.
o Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Years of Experience:
5+ years of experience in security architecture
11+ years of experience in information security
11+ years of experience working with computer systems
11+ years of experience working with network software and hardware, data or voice as well as experience with open and proprietary software and hardware
Required Skills:
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred.
o Good analytical and creative problem solving skills.
o Hands on experience working with Security Architecture and Tools in an enterprise environment doing Policy and Procedure development – 5 years
o Hands on experience working with Security Tools and Security Architecture in a Windows environment with Active Directory – 5 years
o Hands on experience with NESSUS, QualysGuard, Rapid-7, or other similar Security Scanning Tools and Penetration Testing Tools – 5 years
o Hands on experience working with Security Tools and Security Architecture in a UNIX/LINUX environment – 5 years
o At least one currently active Security Certification from the following list: CISSP, CISM, GIAC – 5 years
